In 1987, NEPCO, in collaboration with the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) created Electric Training Center on Sunday, November 13th, which was adopted by JICA as a regional hub in the Middle East, where they were provided with equipment and training devices that ensure the provision of training opportunities in all disciplines necessary for the electric power industry. There are highly qualified staffs with high experience who work in the center.
The training program is designed specifically for those working in the field of electric power industry to keep pace with the rapid development and to develop the skills of workers in the electricity industry.
Training Plans have been developed to serve the needs of workers in the electricity industry as technical skills and behavioral attitudes required as a response to the requirements of the company's domestic and foreign institutions, aspiring to upgrade the efficiency of technical cadres. 
Center Site
The center is located next to Hussein Thermal generating station and 10 km from the city of Zarqa center on the road leading to Hasheimaih town
1. The total land of the center is 30000 m ^ 2
2. The total area of ​​the premises of the center is 6000 m ^ 2 p distributed as follows:
• Laboratories and workshops 3,500 m ^ 2
• Administration building and the study halls of 2500 m ^ 2
 
The Language and Style of Training
    The program carried out either in Arabic or in English, and training includes style of theoretical lectures and practical applications, where practical applications are made in laboratories and workshops and training arenas of the Center for electrical training.
 
Training System
    Training programs are designed to meet the needs of local companies and foreign institutions at various technical levels in the areas of (power, control, and mechanics), where Electric Training Center offers the following training programs:
1. Long-term training programs (regular training for a year or two years).
2. Short-term training programs (they are targeting local companies and raise the efficiency of the company's employees).
3. Private training programs for college students for a fee (10%) as a support to the local community.
4. External training programs through Agency (JICA) and the institutions of power in the Arab countries.
 
Training Program
1. Operating the generating stations.
2. Mechanical maintenance of generating stations.
3. Electrical maintenance of generating stations.
4. Automatic control systems for generating stations.
5. Installation and maintenance of the transmission lines.
6. Installation, operation and maintenance of the substations, transmission and distribution stations.
7. Installation and maintenance of the distribution network and customer services.
8. Welding technology.
9. Implementation, testing and exposing of household electrical wiring.
10. Operation and inspection of power protection systems.
Admission Requirements
 
Applications will be accepted for who have met the following conditions
1. Be Jordanian citizenship.
2. Hold a public high school diploma successfully in the scientific branch, industrial or its equivalent or have obtained a diploma in community college certificate (comprehensive exam in the professional specialization required).
3. He should not exceed the upper limit of the age of candidate who holds a public high school diploma for (22) years, and who holds a diploma for 24 years when he applies.
4. He should have ended the military services or be exempted from or deferred for lack of recruitment.
5. Be physically fit.
6. Provide a judicial warranty to commit in the training period and then work in the company for twice of the training period.
* Training electrical engineering students from various universities in the Electric Training Center:

Training is done by a letter from the university and be answered with an official letter in order to complete the graduation requirements.
