Obtaining a profession practicing license

Estimated Time:

1 week from the date of application at the Vocational Work regulation Unit at the institute.
10 days at the Directorate of Vocational Work regulation.

Location:

All VTC institutes around the Kingdom.

Estimated Fee:

(40) JDs test fees for enrollment in the technician level.
(30) JDs test fees for enrollment in the skilled-worker level.
(20) JDs test fees for enrollment in the semi-skilled level.
(10) JDs shall be collected upon passing the test; as license issuance fee.

Conditions for obtaining service

Those who apply for the technician and skilled-worker levels must be able to read and write.

Notes

-    Profession practicing licenses are issued; in addition to the Directorate, in each of the Vocational Training Directorate / Northern Region and the following vocational training institutes: Aqaba, Tafileh, Maan, Moab, tests and training, Hashimiyah, Ain Al Basha, Sahab, Qweismeh, Yajouz)


Validity of the certificate (profession practicing licenses ):
-    Five years under the provisions of the law
-    Recommendation of granting or blocking the certificate in light of the following criteria:
-    The applicant shall pass the theoretical test with a minimum score of (70%) of the full mark.
-    The applicant shall pass the performance test with a minimum score of (75%) of the full mark, provided that the mark obtained from each of the performance test questions shall not be less than (70%) of the allocated mark.
-    If the applicant does not receive the minimum score in either the theoretical or practical tests, or both, he or she shall sit-in for a placement test in the part he/she failed within one year of the date of initial testing and pay the fees for the test according to level.

Procedures

  • Visit the Vocational Work Regulation Unit at the nearest VTC institute.
  • Fill-out the testing designated form before the relevant officer at the Vocational Work regulation Unit at the institute.
  • The application is examined by the head of the unit or the clerk.
  • The vocational skill level and discipline shall be entered by the training officer or the trainer.
  • Pay the prescribed test fees at the accounting office.
  • Set the times and dates of the theoretical and practical tests.
  • Undergo the tests in the scheduled time and date.
  • (10) JDs are collected upon passing the theoretical and practical tests.
  • The application is then submitted under an official letter to the Directorate of Vocational Work Regulation to issue the certificate.
  • The certificate is then issued by the concerned department and sent to the institute to be handed-over to the applicant.

Required Documents

  • Valid proof of Identity.
  • Recent personal photo.
  • Military conscription booklet; indicating deferred service.
  • A duly attested certificate of experience for applicants within the technician level.
  • Fill-out the designated form available at the vocational work regulation unit.
  • An official letter from the applicant’s department, should the latter be a public servant.
