ICT ministry signs MoU with 5 national universities, Palo Alto Networks
Amman, Sep. 11 (Petra)
Ministry of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with 5 Jordanian universities and the Palo Alto Networks, a leading cybersecurity company based in California.
The protocol, which was inked yesterday on the sidelines of the 2018 Middle East and North Africa Information and Communications Technology (MENA ICT) Forum, aims at boosting cooperation among all parties and establish accredited centers for cybersecurity at national universities.
Also under the memo, Palo Alto Networks will hold IT security training programs, seminars and workshops in collaboration with the ICT for technical specialists, academicians and students .
ICT minister Muthana Gharaibeh said the MoU will help provide graduates with the skills needed to develop their capacities.
Cybersecurity is one of the most important majors in demand in the labour market in the coming years, said Gharaibeh, and emphasized the importance of making Jordan a source of services rather than expertise with its qualified human resources.
